I feel it’s necessary, sadly, to put this post out there regarding the Kirkville dog kennel proposed for Moore Rd., Sullivan New York.
It’s been brought to my attention that neighbors are being approached to support the kennel. They’re being told I’m a horrible person and that I’ve been harassing the owners of the kennel “terribly”. I’d rather stick to the facts than to be drawn into these childish antics. But when I’m being personally slandered throughout the neighborhood and online I need to at least post on this matter once.
I’ve never harassed the owners of the kennel. I’ve done nothing of the sort, and never would. I’ve never spoken to them outside of the very first planning board meeting where we had a few cordial exchanges. I’m being slandered and targeted, I’m presuming, for this website, the “no kennel” signs which the town approved prior, and a handful of letters I’ve written to the town. Three of which were at the towns request.
I’ve also been given links to various social media platforms where community members who oppose the kennel are being viciously attacked as soon as something is posted. I’ve also been mentioned, by full name, as being an awful, manipulative person with a propensity to lie.
Michelle has even gone as far as to attempt to bribe my current dog sitter from sitting for me. Promising her more money if she worked for her instead. Of course that attempt failed.
I oppose the Kirkville dog kennel not because I’m a terrible person, a compulsive liar, someone with an inclination to harass others.
I oppose the kennel because I believe it will disrupt the natural flora of the neighborhood. Because I believe it will have an extremely negative impact on our investments. Because I believe it will disrupt our lives and tear the neighborhood apart, as is already evident. That doesn’t make me an awful person, that makes me a concerned member of this community.
The very same is true of my close neighbors. They’re wonderful, helpful, caring people and respectful members of this community. Some have lived in this neighborhood for decades without incident, without drama. We respect each other and care deeply for this neighborhood. In the over 10 years I’ve been here, there’s not been one argument, not one dispute. Quite the opposite, this has been a wonderful community to be a part of. Friendly, respectful neighbors who have gone out of their way to keep the peace and help when they can.
